L'Octroi Saint Jacques was formerly a toll-house where travellers entering or passing through the pretty town of Beaune had to pay a toll. The charming nineteenth-century building has now been converted into a B&B where you will be warmly welcomed by Mr & Mrs Bianco, the new owners. On the ground floor are two tasteful guest rooms, with beautiful bathrooms completely panelled in slabs of Burgundy stone. Upstairs, the cosy, wood-pannelled "White" suite has two bedrooms and a bathroom. All the comfortable bedrooms have flat-screen televisions, air-conditioning and internet connections. Guests can take breakfast either in the beautiful, air-conditioned dining-room or on the verandah. Don't miss the opportunity to visit your hosts' superb wine cellar next door, where wine-tastings, accompanied by cheese and cooked meats, are available in request, and, of course, you can buy any wine that takes your fancy!
