Bed and breakfast

The drive leading to the Chateau de Pallandt runs through the woods with lakes below it. The chateau was remodelled in the 20th century and it and its outbuildings have retained their charm. The surrounding parkland is superb, with majestic trees, drifts of rhododendrons, meadows and a tennis court. Certainly enough for some enjoyable relaxation. You will be welcomed in the vast entrance hall with its paintings and hunting trophies on the wall, and a small lounge area reserved for guests. Nearby is the large dining room with tapestry-hung walls and a Murano chandelier, where breakfast is served. The huge guest bedrooms are upstairs, each with its own en-suite bathroom and furnished and decorated with antiques. Each has a small lounge area. The rooms' names recall your hosts' illustrious ancestors! The Ambassador's room contains many engravings of landscapes in Switzerland, where grandfather was an ambassador. The Duke of Bassano's room recalls another relative who was one of Napoleon's ministers. General d'Hoogvorst's room recalls another relative who played an important part in the Belgian Revolution in 1830. The Lord Croquison room has a kitchenette which is ideal for longer stays. A beautiful house where you will be warmly welcomed to a family home located in peaceful countryside yet not far from Brussels, Waterloo, Villars-la-Ville and Louvain-la-Neuve.
