Bed and breakfast
Only a hundred yards from the canals and three minutes’ walk from the two main town squares, this Neo-Classical townhouse is home to a family of musicians. Hardly surprising then, that the three guest rooms are named after the first three letters of BACH. “B” is the smallest, decorated in vanilla tones. “A” is done out in shades of grey and “C” in deep, warm Provençal hues. All three are delightfully charming with their wooden ceilings, warm floors and their nineteenth-century doors. Breakfast is served in the gorgeous dining room, where ancient and contemporary styles merge seamlessly. How could it be otherwise when the paintings by Miro, Alechinsky and Roger Raveel are reflected in a Louis XVI mirror? One final tip: Koen Dieltiens is the organist at St. Walburga’s church, so be sure to follow him there on Sundays if you like organ music…
