Bed and breakfast
Dirk and Hilde moved to Bruges after discovering this superb eighteenth-century former family house in the city centre. They were seduced by its beautiful rooms, its stucco ceilings, its marble fireplaces and its garden surrounded by high walls. After two years' work, they have restored this beautiful house's original soul, with hints of their favourite Swedish Gustavian style. On the ground floor is a huge, beautiful dining room whose doors open into the lounge and the pretty rear garden. A small lounge with a fireplace and comfortable armchairs is also available to guests. The "Bouquet" bedroom is decorated with pretty bunches of flowers on a lavender blue background, the "Rocaille" bedroom with grey motifs overlooks the garden and the enormous "Empire" suite has period furniture. In each bedroom is a beautiful bed with a canopy sewn by Hilda's fair hand. Each bedroom has a beautiful bathroom with an old-fashioned bath and shower, overlooking the street or the garden. Breakfast is served in the large dining room or in the orangery, which runs along one wall of the garden, and includes a choice of fresh produce (eggs, cheese, cooked meats and fruit) served with home-made jams. A top-quality address with the style and atmosphere you would expect in the "Venice of the North"!
