Bed and breakfast
This beautiful late ninteenth-century house is situated next to a tranquil canal on a street once called "Castle Quay". The building's charm is evident in its large rooms, its moulded polychromatic ceilings and its period wooden floors. Michaëla Delbaere's love for her home is plain to see. She has created three beautiful guest rooms on the second floor, all with washbasins and en-suite showers, and sharing a toilet on the landing. In the Green room, and the larger Red room the bedheads have definite Pakistani influences. In the vast third room at the rear of the house, the walls were painted by Pieter, the grandson of the internationally-famous artist and sculptor José Vermeersch. Generous organic breakfasts are served in the ground-floor dining room, whose doors and ceiling retain their original painted decorations. Superb !
