Hotel
This beautiful old water-mill, on the banks of the River Warche, a stone's throw from the Hautes Fagnes National Park, has been converted into a delightfully charming small hotel. Three whitewashed-stone buildings with wooden balconies surround a pretty courtyard with a well. In the right-hand wing, guests can enjoy a beer or a glass of the local Peket liqueur in the lounge-bar. The nine guest rooms are in the other two wings of the building. They are all decorated differently, but are all very pretty and comfortable. Some have a bed up on a mezzanine, some have a small lounge area and others have a balcony overlooking the millpond which is popular with the local ducks and other birds. If there is a common decorative theme at "The Old Mill" it is the trout, which you can spot on the walls and the bed-linen. This is not just an allusion to the nearby river, but also to the father of the current owners, who purchased the building in 1967 for use as a fishing-lodge. Breakfasts and evening meals are served in the pretty dining room, in whose hearth a log fire burns all year round.
